Haze aims to communicate the complex feelings of multiracial children of adopted parents. Various constricting design details such as buttoned cuffs and high necks create a feeling of tightness and discomfort, while looser, flowing straps and silhouettes reference the uncertainty of a blurry memory. The prints of the collection have been created from various motifs from my own mother’s adoption process, including her baby identification bracelet and Korean banknotes left with her as a keepsake.
